She was the daughter of Philemon L. Mitchell and Catherine Hall MItchell of Rock Island, Illinois.
On October 11, 1870 she married Lieut. Charles Shaler Jr. at Rock Island, Illinois.
She died in 1877 at San Antonio, Texas.
They were the parents of Charles Shaler Jr. who died age age 30 at Indianapolis Arsenal, Indiana.
