Earnest Leon Bruce, 81, of Harrisburg, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on September 11, 1941, in Boone County, Missouri, the son of the late Earnest Elton and Velma Lucille (Benton) Bruce.
Leon was a carpenter working for local construction companies and contractors over the years.
In his younger years, he enjoyed pulling tractors, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially pitch and playing darts.
He is survived by his children: Gale Wren (Phil) of Harrisburg, Kevin Bruce (Victoria) of Ashdown, Arkansas; sisters Fay Miller (Danny) of Harrisburg, Doris Jean Hollrah (David) of Nebraska; grandchildren Curtis Bruce, Joshua Chapman, Scarlett Bruce; and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Bruce.
