Mary Leila was born December 9, 1944 to Ed and Lucille Ables. She was the only sister of five brothers, Nobert, Charles, Billy, Rayford and Larry. As she grew into an aspiring young woman, she met James Rivers, and they were happily married with two children, Kyle and Susan, while having her own home happily filled with lots of love and laughter.

After years of marriage, she lost her husband James to cancer and then a year later lost her only son to heart failure. She still continued her life with her only remaining child, Susan and two granddaughters, Leah and Tara. She enjoyed her monogramming, sewing, gardening, cooking and taking care of everyone.

Gaggy, as she was affectionately called by everyone, then began to enjoy life even more as her granddaughters began giving her great grandchildren, Hank, Kendra, Aubree, Baby Kyle, Kendrick Jr. Aka Toot, and Baby Ty. After a short stay in Columbia, MS She began enjoying her life again when moving back to Yazoo, living with her daughter Susan, her husband Shorty, and his mother Janice, whom she considered her best friend.

We want to thank the wonderful personnel with Baptist Hospice, Shorty, Linda, Leah, Kendrick Sr.Tara,Tyrone and Janice who all helped make sure she continued to be able to enjoy life as much as possible with Alzheimers and kidney disease. Her untimely death came quickly, but everyone who ever knew Gaggy knows she's in heaven and smiling down upon all of us. Rest in peace Gaggy. We love you always.

Pallbearers are Shorty Jenkins, Kendrick Williams Sr., William Swinney, Tyrone Schaffer, Jimmy Wayne Pettis, and James Pettis.
