WILLIAM BAUGHMAN OBITUARY
William Kern Baughman, 94, a lifetime Morgan County resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 5, 2023, in Mooresville, Indiana. Uncle Bill, as he was lovingly referred to, was born Sunday, July 15, 1928, at the family farm on Centenary Road in Mooresville to the late Joseph Clarence and Bessie Marie (Armstrong) Baughman.
He was a graduate of Martinsville High School with the Class of 1946 and received his bachelor's degree in agriculture from Purdue University. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing poker, golfing, cooking, and hosting parties for his family and friends.
Mr. Baughman served as Assistant County Agent for 4-H in Sullivan, Indiana until 1958. He returned to the family farm, where he enjoyed farming with his brother, Joe. Generous with his time with others, he spent much of his life as a caregiver to his parents, and other family members.
He will be dearly missed and always remembered by his loving family and friends, including his sister-in-law, Sharon Baughman of Mooresville, Indiana; nieces, Brenda Green (husband, William) of Terre Haute, Indiana, Sherry Whitcomb (Stuart) of Kokomo, Indiana, Debbie Shepherd of Port Charlotte, Florida, Julie Barr (husband, Chuck) of DeKalb, Illinois and Susan Baughman of Indianapolis, Indiana as well as several great nieces and nephews, and his good friend Thomas Hanify.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ernie and Joseph J. Baughman and sister, Margaret Elizabeth "Lib" Kinder.
In honoring his wishes, there will be no service at this time.
Neal & Summers Funeral & Cremation Center has been entrusted with arrangements and condolences may be shared with his family at www.nealandsummers.com.
