wife of J.W. Underwood, died at 11 o'clock Friday evening at her home. 26 West Broadway Tippecanoe City, following one week of illness. Heart trouble, brought on by rheumatism was the cause of her death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon In the United Brethren church in Ginghamsburg; of which she was a member. Rev. A. Dunklebarger of Dayton and Rev. Ivory Zimmerman of Union City, former pastor of the decedent, will officiate in the final rites. Burial will be made in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tippecanoe City.
Mrs. Underwood is survived by her husband,three sons. C. D. Smith of Dayton, Raymond and Foreman Underwood of Tippecanoe City; four daughters, Mrs Oscar Kams. Mrs. P. W. Emerick and Mrs. J. C. Robbins of Tippecanoe City and Mrs. J. H. Sherer of the LeFevre Pike, near Troy; two brothers, Samuel Foreman of Marion Ind.,who was at her bedside during her last illness, and George Foreman of Indianapolis, and 14 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son who died in infancy.
The decedent was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Foreman and her birthplace was Hartford City. Ind. The major part of her married life was spent in Miami County and the last seven years in Tippecanoe City. She was a member of the 'Rebekah Lodge, and the Women's Relief Corps. The death of Mrs. Underwood is the first to occur in the family circle in 33 years.
