William "Bill" Junior Bartels, known as Papa to most, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015 in Yerington, Nevada. He was 92.

Bill was born in Carson Valley, Nevada on April 28, 1923.

As a member of the Big Red One, Bill served his country from 1943 thru 1946 as a soldier in the Army.

He met the love of his life, Gladys Sinclair, on her birthday November 16, 1946. They were married 4 short months later on March 14, 1947 and were married for 68 years. They had 4 children and moved their family from Carson Valley to Yerington in the summer of 1972.

Bill lived his life dream of owning and working a farm. A true farmer until the end, Bill continued to drive tractor until the age of 81. Even after that, he could still be found daily tinkering in his yard and on his toys.

A devoted husband, a loving father and adoring Papa, Bill will be missed by all who love him. He was preceded in death by a daughter Jean. Survived are his wife Gladys; 3 sons; daughter, 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
