Gladys was born November 16, 1927 in Paso Robles, CA. She moved to Nevada in the mid-1940's when she met the love of her life William "Bill" Bartels. They were married March 14, 1947 and celebrated 69 years of marriage when her beloved husband passed before her.
They moved their family from Gardnerville to the ranch in Yerington in the summer of 1972. Aunt Gladys, Mom, Grandma was devoted to her family and raised many children, family or not. When she wasn't taking care of others, she enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, crocheting and baking her family-famous apple pies.
She was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" Bartels and her daughter Jean Bartels.
She is survived by her daughter, 3 sons , 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
