She was born October 23, 1956, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late George and Joy Apperson Garrett.
Following graduation from high school she went on to Jamestown Community College School of Nursing and became a registered nurse.
Prior to her retirement she was employed by WCA Hospital, Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing and as a traveling nurse in Buffalo.
Surviving are three children Makayla Hollowell of Jamestown, John Newman of Apex, NC and Michael Newman of Jamestown; four grandchildren Avery Sanabria, Cole Newman, Quinn Newman and Jonathan Newman and a brother Mike Garrett.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Mark Garrett.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
