Born November 10, 1882, in Missouri, the son of Frank and Anna Ellison Burgess, he married Ada Bell Camp February 20, 1908.
She survives along with one son, Donald of Yates City; three daughters, Mrs. Duane (Vera) Hollis of Princeville, Mrs. Robert (Hazel) Sollenberger of Elmwood, and Mrs. Harold (Loretta) Fitzgerald of Brimfield; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; one brother, Leslie of Peoria; and two sisters, Mrs. Mollie Savage of Peoria and Mrs. Rosa Kneer of Princeville.
Mr. Burgess had been a farmer in the Brimfield area most of his life.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Patterson Funeral Home in Elmwood with burial in the Princeville Cemetery.
