Richard Kirkland Strayer, 86, beloved father of Brenda and Lori passed away Saturday, February 2, 2008, in Fort Worth.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday at Genesis United Methodist Church in Fort Worth. Burial will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth.
Visitation is today until 8 p.m., at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Forth Worth.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
He was born January 14, 1922 in McCook, Nebraska to Miley Eugene and Mabel Pearl (Dutcher) Strayer. He served in the United States Army.
Kirk retired after a long career with Champlin Petroleum. He loved model railroading, camping, and golf.
He always said his life has been a "great ride."
Kirk was preceded in death by his first wife, Amy and second wife, June.
The family would like to express extreme gratitude to Accolade Hospice and Bethesda Gardens.
Survivors include daugthers, Brenda Ryan and husband Mike and Lori Burrow and fiancé Greg Barnhart; step-daughter, Patricia Houtz and husband Andrew; sister Norma Nelson; niece Kristi Thompson and husband Joe; grandchildren, Kimberly Meenach and husband Tim, Shannon Robbins and husband Scott; five great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth is in charge of arrangements.
