NOTE: William was the son of Richard S. Fowler and Elizabeth Baker-Fowler.

OBITUARY: East Liverpool Crisis, East Liverpool, Columbiana Co., OH. Saturday, 5 Feb 1898, pg 1.

William Baker Fowler, a well known and respected citizen, died of heart failure and old age at 2:45 this morning at his home at 226 Sixth Street. Deceased was 83 years old, and last Friday he was stricken with the attack that hastened his death. Three sons were present when the end came. Mr. Fowler was born in Brooke County, W.Va., July 15, 1815. When three years old his parents removed to Hancock county, where they lived for many years. On November 14, 1841, deceased was married to Anna Pugh, of Carrollton, O., and later he purchased a farm four miles north of East Liverpool, where they resided for 27 years. In 1868 Mr. Fowler and family removed to this city. Mr. Fowler engaged in the grocery business in this city until 1894, when he retired. Besides a wife, the following children, all of this city, survive: J. Q. A. Fowler, R. P. Fowler, Smith Fowler, and Mrs. Sarah E. Allison. Two sons G. L. Fowler and J. P. Fowler are dead. A sister, Mrs. Susan Mick, of Glasgow, and eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren are also living. Deceased was a professor of the Presbyterian faith nearly all his life, and was a member of the First church in this city. The funeral will take place at 2 o'clock next Monday afternoon, from the late residence, 226 Sixth street. Rev. John Lloyd Lee will have charge of the services. Interment in Riverview cemetery.
