Katie Hawkins Carby, 87 of Clarkson died October 25, 1982 at the Grayson County Hospital. / She was born April 9, 1895 in Grayson County. The daughter of Sam Hawkins and Elizabeth Phillips Hawkins. The wife of John L. Carby. / She was a member of the Center Point Baptist Church. / Survivors include two sons Robert Carby of Route one, Clarkson and Rupert Carby of White Mills; three daughters Noi Hogan of Sonora, Pauline Woods of Louisville and Ava Bullock of Big Clifty; two sisters Elta Blackerby of Louisville, Eva Williams of Route one, Big Clifty, and Emma Welter of Clarkson; two brothers Aaron Hawkins of Leitchfield and Spurgeon Hawkins of Clarkson. Eleven grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. / Funeral services were held October 27, 1982 at the Rogers Funeral Home by the Rev. Ed Dermitt with interment in New Lone Oak Cemetery.
