Jerry Leroy Baugher, age 88, of Luverne, Minnesota, joined his wife, Mary Lou, in the arms of their savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the Minnesota Veteran's Home in Luverne.

Jerry Leroy Baugher was born on February 12, 1935 to Charles and Iva (Mercer) Baugher in Sikeston, Missouri, the twelfth of thirteen children. The family moved a lot during his childhood until the big move to California when Jerry was twelve years old. There he met his future bride, Marylou Lindberg, during his senior year in high school. The couple were married in Amarillo, Texas on March 16, 1953. They moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where Jerry joined the United States Air Force and honorably served for two years. Jerry was also a member at this time of the Lather's Union. The family then moved to California where he started a six-year job as a rocket engine mechanic at Rocket Dyne in Santa Susana, California. Jerry moved the family back to Minnesota in 1968, purchased a home big enough for their family of ten, and began working for his brother-in-law's business, Ted Lindberg Construction Company. He served eighteen years in the Minnesota Army National Guard, first as an infantry man and then as a cook. He attained a two-year degree in Alexandria, Minnesota for computer programming and through that newly gained knowledge, started his hobby of genealogy. He also enjoyed reading, photography, and building and flying model airplanes. He and Marylou enjoyed traveling together and visited China, Hawaii and many states throughout the country. In 1976, Jerry chose to follow Jesus, and loved Him until his last breath on Saturday, May 6, 2023 while residing in the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne, Minnesota.

Jerry is lovingly remembered by his children, Rita (Dan) Kosterman of Eagle River, Alaska; Steve (Peg) Baugher of Marshall, Minnesota; Terry (Ellen) Baugher of Dawson, Minnesota; Barb (Steve) Stirn of Worthington, Minnesota; Kelli (Steve) Nothem of Gilcrest, Colorado; Jan (Rob) Case of Guthrie, Oklahoma; Maria (Daniel) Settles of Claremore, Oklahoma; 38 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Brenda Baugher of Columbus, Nebraska; and his brother Fred Baugher of Camarillo, California as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Iva Baugher; 11 siblings; his wife, Marylou (Lindberg) Baugher; son Kevin Baugher; and son-in-law Rob Case.
