He was the founder and former President of the International Chemical Workers Union.

He was the son of John Bradley who died sometime between the 1900 and 1910 censuses and Mamie Foster Bradley.
On January 24, 1915 as Arthur Bradley, he married Catherine Griffiths at Detroit, Michigan.
They were the parents of one child.
In September 1945, he filed for divorce against Kathryn Bradley of Monticello, Illinois for willful absence and gross neglect.
Per The Times Recorder published Tuesday, February 19, 1946: On Sunday afternoon, February 17, 1946, he married Mrs. Helen Nicholson of Akron, Ohio at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Zanesville, Ohio. The ceremony was performed by Dr. W.M. Hackenberg.
She had recently resigned her position as field deputy of the Ohio Department of Industrial Relations in the Division of Factory and Building Inspection and Female and Child Labor. He was International President of the International Chemical Workers' Union A. F. of L.
In 1954, Helen F. Bradley filed suit for divorce charging gross neglect an extreme cruelty.
They had no children.
His third marriage was to Mary Ann Tiffany.
