Ms. June Evelyn Carr, age 90 of Rickman died Thursday May 4, 2023 at Life Care Center of Sparta. She was born October 5, 1932 in the Willow Grove Community of Clay County to the late Stanley H. and Carrie Velma Goodpasture Carr.

She attended Lipscomb University, earned a bachelor's degree from Tennessee Tech University, and later earned a master's degree in Library Science while teaching in Jacksonville, FL. She taught school at Stonewall Jackson Elementary in Jacksonville for 35 years.

Ms. June has been a member of Netherland Church of Christ since moving back to Tennessee in 1990. She enjoyed needle work and floral designing.

She leaves behind a sister: Betty Sue Bilbrey; three nephews: Kent Brown, David Bilbrey and Dale Bilbrey; a niece: Sara Bilbrey; and by great nephews: Derick and Dalton Bilbrey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister: Mary Frances Brown; and by brothers in law: Ronald E. Bilbrey and Alvin Jared Brown.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 6th at Netherland Church of Christ with Bro. Mark Loftis officiating. Interment followed in Eckel Cemetery.
