We know that Ellis and Polly had 16 children together plus the 2 daughters of Ellis from his 2nd wife. We know that in the 1880 census, Wesley was listed as 5 years old and Conaway was listed as 7. Colon L had already passed away. In the 1900 census, Polly had a total of 12 children still living. They bought headstones for their children, so we think Wesley, who died before 1900 has a headstone in Union, or he lived long enough to move away and is buried somewhere else. We are assuming he is in Union and will ask someone to search for a Boyte child headstone that died before 1900.
Some people think Conaway was named Conaway Wesley, but that is not the case.
We also have the bible of his niece, Janie Opal Boyte, who lists him as one of her 11 uncles.
