He was born August 28, 1942, in Baltimore, MD, a son of the late Robert and Vera Oma (Beaver) Tippins.
Chester was a retired welder at shipyards in Portsmouth, VA. He was a member of the Paden City Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded by his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Tippins; a daughter "Chrissy" Tippins; 3 brothers Robert G. Tippins, and 2 infant brothers Gary and Jimmy Tippins.
He is survived by 3 sons, "Chucky" Tippins of New Martinsville, WV, Jeffrey Tippins (Leanne Miller) and Jason Tippins (Teeney Holland) both of Portsmouth, VA; 4 grandchildren, John Albertson, Tyler Tippins, Tara Tippins and Tabitha Tippins; 2 sisters, Nancy (Richard) Lemaster of Florida and Diana Cecil of Paden City, WV.
Graveside services at Paden Memorial Garden will be held at the convenience of the family.
