Born September 5th, 1932
Died April 26th, 2023
Rosa was born at home at SW 84th & Western Ave. to Frank Jr. and Anna Janko, early settlers of Moore. The first daughter after 4 sons, Rosa was so special, she was named after three Aunts who helped with her delivery.
Raised on the Janko Farm on 12th St across from the park in Moore, Rosa met the love of her life, Norman Nelson Bewley at the age of 16. She wasn't ready to leave the farm and kept declining Norman's proposal of marriage. Finally, 4 years later the ultimatum was made 'marry me or I'm going on down the road'. She said YES! And this started the most perfect marriage for 63 years. Norman served in the Navy and Rosa served the home providing a loving environment for their future family. Their military assignments took them to Pearl Harbor Naval Base, Oahu, Hawaii, Millington, Tennessee, North Island, San Diego, Miramar, Moffett Field, Mountain View, California, and Iwakuni, Japan.
Rosa's Bohemian side was expressed through her art: the art of grace, the art of gentleness, the art of a kind word, the art of loving and giving. Her other talents included quilting, sewing, gardening, cooking, tole painting, and crocheting. During Rosa's journey through Alzheimer's, her hands kept their busy nature by folding blankets, kitchen towels, napkins, and cupping the faces of those she so loved.
Rosa worked alongside Norman in the Real Estate office since 1974 and up until the age of 87 worked alongside her daughter in the Real Estate office where tenants, clients, friends and family enjoyed visiting with her and seeing her living her best life.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband Norman, their son Philip, her siblings: Frankie, Emil, Jimmy and Joe Janko, sister Shirley McMahill and their parents Frank & Anna Janko.
