Karen Nan Peterson Stevens was born in Orem, Utah, on April 27, 1939 to her wonderful parents, Leonard A. and Hazel Farley Peterson. She had a fabulous childhood, playing with her siblings and friends in her Grandparents' orchard and barn.
Mom had attended BYU for a year when she met her husband to be on a blind date. It was love at first sight. They were married on June 30, 1960 in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity.
Mom was an excellent example of service, generosity, and compassion. She was a brilliant cook, an accomplished pianist, and she always knew how to make people laugh. Many enjoyed her meals, music, and her amazing sense of humor. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Mom and Dad had four children. Her kindness, generosity and compassion were reflected in her love for her children, as she yearned for them to have a fabulous childhood as well. She also extended this love to her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
Karen is survived by her husband (Don) of 60 years; children: Paige (David) Fishburn, Tracy (Chris) McDermott, Farley Stevens, Ashley (Adam) Shepherd; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters: Vickie (Michael) Murphy and Julie (Art) Allred.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jan Peterson; and sister, Cheryl Dittman.
Funeral services for Karen will be held on Friday, December 4th at 2:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah.
