Betty L. Pruett

APRIL 14, 1950 – APRIL 21, 2023

Betty L. Pruett, age 73, resident of Arlington, Texas, passed away on April 21, 2023.

Betty was born on April 14, 1950, in Dublin Texas. She was raised by her mother, Linnie Ashby Baldwin in Weatherford and Granbury, Texas.

She spent most of her school age time in Granbury, Texas, spent time in California before settling in Arlington, Texas in the late 1960's. She would make Arlington her home.

Betty began her career as a hairdresser and had her own salon. She later left the salon but kept her license and continued with hair care on the side. She worked in the customer service industry in many areas, but especially loved working for AMR, where she could travel the world. She decided to retire so that she could take care of her grandchildren and enjoyed every moment of it.

During her life, she always enjoyed traveling. She first began with trips to Las Vegas, Shreveport, and taking cruises. She always loved talking about her travels to Germany, Paris, and other countries. Later in life she spent a lot of her time cruising where she enjoyed the ports, the casino, but more importantly the friends and socialization she acquired while cruising. She loved her cruising friends! Her passion for sports, especially the Texas Rangers, was a very big part of her life. When she was not traveling, she enjoyed finding "unique items" at the local thrift stores.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Steve, and ex-husband and father of her children, Willard, and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Gavin and husband Francis of Granbury, Texas; Amy Hansen and husband Erik of Haslet, Texas.

She is also survived by her siblings: brother Carl Ashby of Longview, Washington, Shirley Hopper of Granbury, Texas and Robert Ashby of Ponder, Texas.

Betty leaves behind 5 grandchildren: Austin Yeager, Jonathan Henslee, Blain Bowen, Shelby Hansen, and Lindsey Hansen. She also leaves behind 5 great grandchildren and lots of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Her smile would light up a room and her personality were infectious. Her love for her family, cruising, thrifting, crafting, and talking to everyone she saw will be felt by so many people who knew her and loved her. Heaven has gained an angel and the Earth has lost a special woman who would never meet a stranger. We love you to the moon and back and we will see you again!

Her service will be held at 12:00 PM, May 20th, 2023, at Venture Church in Keller, Texas. Flowers can be sent to the church on Friday or Saturday prior to the service.
