Funeral Service for James "Veachel" Davis, 80 of Spiro, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, Oklahoma with Jim Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Oklahoma under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.

Veachel was born on September 16, 1942, in Poteau, Oklahoma to Vesta Pearl Crook and James H. Davis and passed away on April 16, 2023, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was married to Daisy (Resch) Davis on December 30, 1983, in Pocola, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Damon Davis, Buddy Ray Davis, Winfield Davis, Robert Davis, and Charles McRay; sisters, Olean Flute, Edith Pittman, Ethel Chapel, Willie Marshal, Lutceria McRay, Reba Stansbury, and May Inez Echols.

Survivors include his wife, Daisy Davis; daughters, Lynette Lillard and husband Burt, Damita Hale and husband Terry, Teresa Westbrook and husband Bill, Cindy Ray and husband Ron; grandchildren, Mark Hale, Amanda Evensen, Blake Lillard, Miranda Bradley, Brandon Cardwell, Shyla Hamrick, and Scott Ray; 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Leonard Davis and wife Joyce, Lester Davis and wife Helen; sister, Faye Jackson and husband Danny; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones.

Pallbearers will be Mark Hale, Mak Hale, Blake Lillard, Scott Ray, Alex Bradley, and Bill Westbrook.

Open Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, from 9:00 AM- 8:00 P.M.
