Damon Douglas Davis I, 68, of Howe, OK passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in Howe. Damon was born April 28, 1949, in Poteau, OK to James Henley & Vesta Pearl (Crook) Davis.

He was a veteran of the US Army and served in Vietnam. He was a member & officer of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 784, American Legion Post 188 and Heavener VFW Post 8403. Damon was a railroad engineer for 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Winfield J. & Robert Wayne Davis, Charles MCray; sisters, Olean Flute, Edith Pittman, Ethel Chapel, Willie Marshal, Lutceria MCray & Reba Stansbury.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Angela; sons, Damon Douglas Davis II, Douglas Paul Meyer & wife Josette; daughter, Nichole Dawn Runyan & husband Scott; brothers & their wives, Veachel & Daisy Davis, Leonard & Joyce Davis, Lester & Helen Davis, Buddy Ray & Lea Harris; sisters, May Inez Echoles & husband Jay, Faye Jackson & husband Danny; grandchildren, Britton Davis, Natasha & David Teeters, Taylor Davis, Isaac Davis, Jace Runyan, Jude Runyan, Leyah Meyer, Bentley Meyer; great grandchildren, Hunter, Jefferson & Rylin Teeters; special godchild, Monica Auerbach; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be Wednesday, March 13, 2018 at 10 am in Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Anna Dameron & Jim Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Smith National Cemetery at 1 pm.
