Mr. Marcus, a lifelong Indianapolis resident, died Wednesday, Jan. 2 in Methodist Hospital.
He and his brother, Harry Marcus, operated the 10th Street Tavern at 10th and West streets for 22 years. Mr. Marcus retired in 1968. For the last three years he has been a clerk for the law firm of Gleason, Woods and Johnson.
Mr. Marcus was a member of the United Orthodox Hebrew Congregation and a former member of B'nai Torah Congregation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the kidney unit at Methodist Hospital.
Survivors, besides the brother, include the widow, Mrs. Helen Marcus, and a daughter, Mrs. Herbert Johnson of Indianapolis.
