COLLEEN'S OBITUARY
Colleen Walker Younce, age 96, of Hudson passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Caldwell UNC Health Care. She was born December 24, 1926 in Wilkes County to the late Gaither Lee Walker and Pearl Icenhour Walker. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Edgar "Eddie" W. Younce; two daughters, Patsy Waters, and Wanda Spencer; three brothers; and six sisters.
Mrs. Younce was a devoted and longtime member of Lenoir Community Church.
Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Diane Anderson and husband Jerry of Claremont; one brother, Steven Walker of Arizona; six beloved grandchildren, Todd Waters and wife Cheryl, Tonya Walsh, Marcie Stacy and husband Denny, Matt Laws and wife Tonya, Jonathan Anderson and wife Anita, and Monte Anderson and wife Michelle; thirteen great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Carl Otis. Interment will immediately follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
