Cameron - Raymond James Meeks, 81, of Cameron, died Thursday, October 18, 2001 at Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale. Funeral Services held October 22nd at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Burlington with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Meeks was born on December 1, 1919 in Milam County to John Edmonds Meeks and Hattie Granzer. He worked as a farmer and as a custodian for Rosebud-Lott ISD for 20 years. Mr. Meeks was preceded in death by a son, Allen William Meeks in January 16, 2000, as well as, 11 brothers and 1 sister.
Mr. Meeks is survived by his long-time companion, Lenora Smolinski; a son, Melvin Meek of Austin; a daughter, Linda Gudat of Nathrop, CO; and a sister, Bonnie Henkel of Ft. Worth.
