Floyd was born on November 2, 1914, in Ayr, ND, son of Harry and Lena Wode Wilcox.
Floyd graduated from Ayr High School in 1932 and farmed with his father until 1937 when he moved to Ventura, CA, where he worked for Bank of America.
He married Ruby Evans in 1940. In 1943, he entered the United States Army where he served for 3 years. Upon his return to California he went into the Industrial Supply Business as a partner and now owns the business in Oxnard, California.
Floyd and Ruby had one son, Gary (Susan), Seattle, Washington. He has two sons, John and David. Gary is a doctor of molecular biology and biochemistry.
Floyd married Caroline Broda in 1985. He continued to work in the company until the last months still going to the office some of the time.
He was a 50 year member of the Lions Club serving as their treasurer for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline; son, Gary; brother, Lewis (Lois) Wilcox, Fargo; sister, Alta (Burnell) Beilke, Buffalo, ND; two grandsons; and three stepchildren, Sandy, Stacy, and Michael Broda.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Francis.
A memorial service will be held in Ventura, CA, on Saturday, February 12, 2005.
