Virginia Weston Blewett

Sept. 21, 1917 - March 9, 2008

Virginia Weston Blewett, 90, was born September 21, 1917, in Stockton, CA and passed away, March 9, 2008, in Stockton. Mrs. Blewett was from a pioneer family, starting when her great grandfather brought twenty-two families out West in a wagon train in 1861. She was married 65 years to attorney Robert N. Blewett who died in 2005. She enjoyed the love of family and friends of all ages. Her many charitable works included being on the Children's Home Board for many years, being one of the founders of the Dameron Hospital Auxiliary, was a member of Chapter FS PEO for over 60 years and was a member of St. John's Altar Guild. She was a member of Oak Park and West Lane Tennis teams and she served on the board of the San Joaquin Historical Society as well. She was a graduate of El Dorado Primary School, Stockton High and College of the Pacific, with a BA in History and Art. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Theta Tau. She especially loved to be with friends and family. Travel, art, music, tennis, friends and playing with her dog Mac were her favorite hobbies.

Her husband, Robert Noall Blewett and her son, Dr. Richard Weston Blewett preceded her in death. Surviving are a daughter Carolyn Lawrence (Joseph) of Stockton; grandchildren, Christine Pang (Andrew) of San Rafael, Catherine Barron (Joseph) of Stockton and great grandchildren, Paulino Robert Barron, Philip Joseph Barron and Madison Chi-Yung Pang.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. John's Anglican Church, corner of Miner and El Dorado Sts., Stockton, CA on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. There will be visitation at the DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St., Stockton, CA on Monday, March 17, 2008, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Committal: Stockton Rural Cemetery. Family suggests memorial contributions in her memory be made to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Ave., Stockton, CA 95204, St. John's Anglican Church, 316 N. El Dorado St., Stockton, CA 95202 or the Haggen Museum, 1201 N. Pershing Ave., Stockton, CA 95203.
