William Blackburn Adkins married Nora May Gibson and was the son of Blackburn Barrett Adkins and Judith Lovejoy. William had two children. Conley Odell Adkins and a little girl.

The Marriage Certificate for william Blackburn Adkins and Nora Mae gibson was filled in W.V and they were married at her fathers house Odell Gibson bye my Great Great Grandpa the Rev, Hamilton Samuel Spears.

One day I had an opportunity to talk his daughter. She couldn't hear very well but she wanted to talk to me. She said she was only 87 and begin telling about her family "What a great thing I "thought". As I began to tell her what I was doing and how we both fit in the Family. I told her that I had been doing a little military history on the family and that every time I would start looking for my Uncle Robert Widdie Adkins her brother Conley kept coming up. To only find out that they had both been killed in the invasion of Normandy in France. They were buried in my grandfather Isaiah Adkins cemetery along with her father William and two uncles, George Washington Adkins and Matthew Adkins. She began to tell me what she knew. As my conversation had to keep getting louder because of her hearing, I thought maybe she would go death for as loud as I had to talk. But finally I Settled back in my seat and just began to take notes. The more Questions I ask the more I received a defferent answer to the question. But eventually she had answered all most all of them, She told me her grandmother was a lovejoy and her first name was Judia and her Grandfather was Blackburn Adkins. "Finely" Now the connection, My Great Great Grandfather Luke G Adkins was Blackburn's Brother. Their father's name was Hamilton Adkins and they were burried in the same cemetery on the hill. She seamed to know what I was after and did her best to tell me even though she couldn't hear me. It was great to hear her speak of her family to me as I listened with great admiration as some of the past unfolded. She told me that her fathers full name was William Blackburn Adkins and her mother was Nora May Gibson. "That was exactly what I wanted to hear". I told her that I had the Pension with her mothers signature on it signed on January 13 1920 in Lincoln WV along with her grandparents Blackburn Barret Adkins and Judia and one of her fathers bothers John Hamilton Adkins. Untill then I was uncertain how Nora was related and new she wasn't married to John H Adkins because he was the son of Blackburn. But was a witness along with her brother in law John Hamilton Adkins to Blackburn's and Judia's "mark" on Luke G Adkins pension filed by his last wife Mary Jane [Tabor] Lucas. After thanking her for all her help she gave the phone back to her husband Ora. We now continued a three way conversation. They told me that her father and two uncles George Washington, and Mathew had left the Hamlin area of west Virginia and moved into the Jackson part of Ohio around 1942. And round the same time William's son Conley entered the service. If work wasn't bad enough doing the depression in west Virginia it had gotten worse after the beginning of world war two. I'm sure that Isaiah had something to do with them comming to Ohio. At some point her Father William and uncles were still communicating with my grandpa Isaiah Adkins. Because they show up at his house in Hewitt's Creek. The three brothers had built a small log cabin in the woods on the property of Isaiah Adkins and called it Will Hollow. They stayed there a while till they made enough money to bye some land of there own. After moving to Ohio the brothers along with there children rented a couple places around the area first before finely settling on some 40 acres of land they bought together just out side Jackson. After asking her what kind of crops did they grow I already new what the answer was going to be. It was Corn she replied and we always had a garden.
