Shooting Affair.
A fatal shooting affair occurred at Camp Carling on Tuesday, March 1st, resulting in the death of Lieut. Mason, and the wounding of a man named Amos Botsford, employed at the Camp. We understand that the parties had some words the night previous, and upon again meeting, hot words passed, pistols were drawn and the result was as above. Lieut. Mason was quite a young man, the only dependence of his mother, who resides at Detroit, Michigan. The entire force at the Fort and several citizens of this place attended the funeral. Botsford is in the hands of the authorities.
