"Goldie Proffit, 88, St Joseph, died Tuesday morning, Sept. 22, 1987, at a St Joseph hospital following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Proffit was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
A lifelong resident of St Joseph, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dewey Proffit, who died in 1963. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Juanita Torbett, who died in 1952, and by three brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are a sister, Alice Fetty of St Joseph, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. at Mount Auburn Cemetery under the direction of the Meierhoffer-Fleeman funeral home." St Joseph News-Press, September 22, 1987
