BRILL, PAUL FISCHBACH, age 94, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at his home in Bluff Ridge after a long battle with Parkinson. He and his twin sister were born on March 19, 1915 to Robert Lewis and August Fischbach Brill the youngest of ten children. Paul a 1934 graduate of McAdory High School married his high school sweetheart, Elsie Bunn in 1935. They celebrated 72 years of marriage before her death in February 2008. Paul served in the US Navy during World War II. In 1977, he retired from Alabama Power Company with 37 years of service. Before the progression of Parkinson, Paul was very active in his church, Arnolds Chapel United Methodist, and his community, Bluff Ridge. Paul enjoyed raising vegetables and sharing them with his neighbors; and also enjoyed raising and working with cattle.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Bunn Brill; his parents; his five sisters and his six brothers.
Mr. Brill is survived by daughters, Carolyn Brill of Bluff Ridge, AL, Janice B. Hood and her husband John M. (Marty) of Kennesaw, GA; son, Rodger P. Brill of McCalla, AL along with many nieces, nephews, friends and our loving caregiver, Imogene Dagnan to whom we give a special thanks.

Funeral service will be at Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home on Monday, July 6, 2009 at 11:00 am with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, July 5, 2009 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
