Billy had been a truck driver for many years and was a member of Massies Mill Presbyterian Church. He had a love for mustangs, getting massages, and going on spontaneous road trips. He was always cracking a joke and could often be found playing the slot machines. Billy's greatest joy however, came from his family and the time and love he shared with them. He will be missed by his beloved yorkies; Max and Ruby.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Linda Burnley Allen; sons, Matthew Oliver Sr. (Ashley) of Shipman, and Brian Fitzgerald (Carol) of Tyro; daughter, Crystal Allen (Larry) of Tyro; sisters, Kim Swindell (Bobby), and Delores Mays, both of Tyro; grandchildren, Morgan Allen (Dakota), Madison Allen (Justin), Matthew Oliver Jr., Adeana Allen, and Mason Oliver; great-grandson, Jackson Crouch; special brother-in-laws, Leonard Burnley, and James Burnley, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother-in-laws, B.L. Mays, and Donnie Burnley.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday April 7, 2023 at Byrum-Parr Funeral Home by Rev. Carroll Martin and Rev. David Christian with burial to follow in Jonesboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at the funeral home.
