Raymond Crawley Carter, age 89, died on December 29, 1989 in Salt Lake City.


Born October 23, 1900 in Eureka, Utah, son of Thomas H and Mary Crawley Carter. Married Fannie Louise Irons on June 16, 1926 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died on April 15, 1957. Married Leah Augusta Gibson on August 8, 1958 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died on December 29, 1987. He was a carman and inspector for Union Pacific Railroad for 43 years. Temple worker for over 30 years, served a mission to the London Temple with his wife Leah from 1968-70.


Survived by daughters, LuRae Johnson and husband, Paul; Anita Carpenter and husband, Darrell, all of Salt Lake City; Elaine Haake and husband, Leonard, Midvale; 13 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; brother, Ernest McKay Carter, Provo.


Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 1990 at 11 a.m. in the McKinley Ward Chapel, 1863 South West Temple Street. Friends may call at the MacKay Deseret Mortuary, 36 East 700 South on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and at the Ward Chapel on Wednesday one hour prior to services.
Interment: Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.
