Marguerite Bennett Dews Gorham passed away peacefully to "see her boys" Monday, March 12, 2007.
Funeral: was 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, Austin. Interment: followed in Austin Memorial Park.
She received her B.A. and master's in music. She loved everyone she met and had a great sense of humor. On June 18,1934 in Fort Worth, Tarrant Co, Tx she married General Omer Sigmund Dews. Marguerite traveled the world with her husband and they lived in many exciting places.
After General Dews died in 1987 she met and married John Dean Gorham on December 1,1991 in Travis Co, TX . They loved animals, nature and being outdoors. Soon they moved to a ranch in Buda to live with her son, David Bennett Dews and his wife, Florence and dozens of dogs, cows, cats and horses.
After Dean and her only son, David, passed away Marguerite lived at the ranch for awhile with Florence.
The family wishes to thank Florence Dews and the staff at Luling Care Center, who gave Marguerite such loving care the past five years.
Survivors: Her nieces and nephews and their families: Judy Johnson and her children, Rob Johnson, Karen Johnson, Gordon Johnson and Stanley Johnson and their families. John Scott III and his children and their families. Paul Scott and Natalie Holst. Billie Jeanne Kirschner and her children, Rusty Kirschner and Randy Kirschner.
