Minister Jimmie Harmon, aka "Jim" and "Doc", son of the late Jim R. Harmon and Bonnie J. Sandifer Harmon was born December 14, 1946, in Sallis, MS.

He accepted Christ at an early age and united with the St. John Missionary Baptist Church.

He received his education at Jacob Chapel and Long Creek Public School System. He furthered his education in the Job Corps in California and earned a welding certification.

He was employed by Faulk engineering for more than 25 years. Jimmie earned his CDL for 18 wheeler tractor trailer operator.

His favorite hobbies were breeding horses and dogs, shooting pool, fishing, motorcycle riding and farming.

After returning home to Sallis, MS; in 1996, he was employed by Hunter Engineering and Ivey Mechanical. He also worked on the rebuilding of New Orleans and Biloxi after Hurricane Katrina.

On May 31, 2005, he united in holy matrimony with Betty Rose Harris Harmon. Mrs. Betty preceded him in death in June of 2015.

He leaves these loved ones to cherish his memory Seven sisters, Daisy Harmon Allen of Bellwood, IL; Clara Harmon Smith (Thomas) of Lombard, IL; Mary Harmon Burnside (Curtis) of Chicago, IL; Brenda Harmon Teague of Sallis, MS; Sharon Harmon Woods of Jackson, MS; Janice Harmon Howard of Woodbridge, IL; Vickie Harmon of Memphis, TN; three brothers, Charles F. Harmon of Sallis, MS; Willie D. Ellis (Geneva) Milwaukee, WI; and Larry Harmon (Jackie) Westchester, IL; three daughters, Keshia Harmon Pritle Milwaukee, WI; Shelly (Brandon) Hill Wilkinson Phoenix, AZ; and Karla Williams New Port News, VA; six grandchildren, Javon (Stephanie) Harmon Milwaukee, WI; James Harmon Milwaukee, WI; Eboni Hill Guy, Bayden Wilkinson, and Chase Wilkinson all of Phoenix, AZ; one God-son, Shaw Teague Kosciusko, MS. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Three special cousins, Roy Harmon, F. D. Sandifer, and the late Ozzie Sandifer.
