Pauline E. Smith
LEWISTOWN - Pauline E. Smith, 96, a resident of Ohesson Manor, Lewistown, formerly of Open Hearth Manor, died at 4:35 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at the nursing home. Born Nov. 13, 1904, in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Blanche Hoffman. Her husband, Robert L. Smith, died in 1966. She is survived by a son, Robert C. Smith, 53 Woodbine Road, Lewistown, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters. She was a graduate of the Shippensburg State Normal School. She was an elementary school teacher in Mount Union and for the Mifflin County School District for 40 years. She was a member of the Burnham Methodist Church. Private graveside services will be held at Juniata Memorial Park, with the Rev. Clifford Miller Jr. officiating. There will be no viewing and family will provide all flowers. Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.
