Ethelene was born in Baytown, TX on November 30, 1942, the daughter of Charlie and Henrietta (Madison) Thomas. She moved to Abilene from Wichita Falls in 1989. She was a certified nurses aide in the home health care field. Ethelene was also a mentor for the Big Brother/Big Sister program. She was a member of the Antioch C.M.E. Church where she was a member of the choir and served as a stewardess.
She is survived by her three sons, Paul Bland and Don Jones and his wife, Tiffany, all of Abilene, and DeAnthony Williams of Hollywood, CA; one sister, Eloise Mack of Los Angeles, CA; a grandson, De Anthony Bland of Abilene; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, J.C. Arps.
