Born in the part of Ashe Co., NC that would become Watauga Co., the second son of David Tucker and Elizabeth Campbell Harman. Wiley served in Co. A., 11th Battalion, NC Home Guards and in 1865 was captured and was sent to Camp Chase, OH as a POW. He was released in June 1865.
Wiley married Mary Ann Trivett on 11/15/1866 in Watauga Co. and were the parents of 12 children.

W. A. HARMON DIES AT BLUFF CITY, TENN.

Funeral services for W. A. Harmon, 83, Bluff City, Tennessee, who died at 10 p.m. yesterday, will be this afternoon at Chinquapin Baptist church, 2:30 o'clock. Rev. Jacob Good, this city will officiate.
Mr. Harmon was the son of David T. and Elizabeth Harmon, and was born October 3, 1864 (*last two digits transposed)
The deceased served in both the Civil War and the Spanish American Wars, being a Confederate soldier in the first struggle.
He was united in marriage to Mary A. Trivett November 15, 1866, and to this union were born, twelve Children, six of whom survive. His wife and several grandchildren survive also.
Children surviving are: Mrs. J. H. Adams, Mrs. M. F. Tester, Will Harmon, all of Bluff City, Mrs. J. L. Moore, Sugar Grove, North Carolina, Raymond Harmon, Scott's Bluff, Nebraska, Maldon Harmon Billings, Montana.
Early in life, the deceased became a member of the Missionary Baptist church, and at the time of his death was a member of the First Baptist church in Bluff City.
Pallbearers are: James and William Boling, Marion Green, Bert Thomas, Maynard Lyon, Johnny Matters.
Honorary pallbearers: J. H., G. L., and F. C. Adams, M. F. and Denver Tester, S. H. Trivett, H. C. Reed.
Flower bearers will be grandchildren of the deceased: Mrs. H. C. Reed, Miss Myrtle Lyons, Mrs. G. L. Adams, Mrs. Carl Harmon, Opal and Argie Harmon, Mrs. S. H. Trivett, Lena Trivett.
