Life Celebration Services honoring Charlie will take place at Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel on Friday, April 14, 2023, at 12 noon with Benjamen Evers officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Frost Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel the day of the service from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Charlie was born on January 22, 1940, in Clare, son of Herbert and Anna (Gronda) Carr. Charlie was a proud member of the Mackinac Bands of Chippewa and Ottawa Indians. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Jessie Ann Bushree on August 23, 1958, in Midland. He was a master mechanic, working for many General Motors Dealerships for many years. Charlie held 13 automotive degrees and was able to work on all types of automobile mechanics. He served two years a Clare County Auxiliary Officer. Charlie interest in deer hunting began at the age of 13 years. He enjoyed spending time in the woods, or watching hunting shows. He was passionate about woodworking and crafting hunting blinds. He was a great artist and enjoyed free hand drawing. Jessie and Charlie loved spending time together, they were almost never seen apart from one another. The two of them also cherished their time with their children and grandchildren.
Charlie is survived by his three children: Tracy L. Carr of St. Louis, Michigan, Rena J. Smith and husband Marty of West Branch, and Calvin J. Carr of Harrison; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Charlie was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-three years, Jessie Ann Carr on June 15, 2022; one daughter, Kelly Lynn Carr; parents; and Ten siblings.
