Donald John Falling, 65, died on February 22, 2023.

A son of Rita (Bacha) Falling and Robert Henry Falling, he grew up on Court Street in Streator. He enjoyed a fun and active childhood, spending many days with the neighborhood gang in "The Bottoms". He graduated from Streator High School in 1975.

An Army veteran, Don was trained in the Field Artillery Branch at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and was stationed at the Stuttgart Army Base in Germany. He was a paralegal. Before moving to Florida in the mid-80's, he managed a Ponderosa Steakhouse and a Monical's Pizza.

He met his wife, Cynthia, in Miami, Florida and they raised a daughter, Mary. After moving to Celebration, Florida, Don founded Celebration Lock & Safe. A skilled locksmith, he operated the business until his death.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Cynthia; his parents; an older brother: Bob Falling; uncle Dan Biros and uncle John Bacha.

He is survived by his daughter: Mary Falling; and his siblings: Diane (Kevin) Gaede, Tom Falling and Jim (Ana) Falling; nine nieces and nephews; and Aunt Mary Biros. Two friends: Deb and Ilia, were exceptionally kind and loving to Don.

Don enjoyed the outdoors, cooking, German Shepherds and urban camping. He was planning a trip back to Streator for June, 2023. He was craving Steve's donuts, Kevin's tenderloins, and Mona's spaghetti. He "just wanted to play Euchre with people who knew the game".

A memorial service will be held this summer. The family will light a bonfire, blast some music, and remember the Glory Days.
