Maxine Wiggins, 75, was born in Richland parish on Hill Rd. on June 16, 1932, and passed from this life on Tuesday, February 26, 2008. She was preceded in death by her father Grover Cleveland Hill, and her mother Mamie Alma LaGrone Hill. Also preceding her were her sisters; Lona McDonald, Annie Bell Jones, brothers; Grover Cleveland Hill, Jr., and James Hill.
Mrs. Wiggins is survived by her children; daughter Mary Ann Colvin (Tommy) of Rayville, sons; Huey L. Wiggins, Jr. (Sylvia) of Delhi, Billy Bob Wiggins (Misty) of Monroe, Roy Wiggins (Trudy) of Mangham, and Rev. Joe Wiggins (Lauren) of Eagleville, TN. Mrs. Wiggins is also survived by sisters; Bernice Boydston of Natchitoches, LA, Mozelle Bingston of Salina, KS, and Geraldine Hill of Rayville. She is also survived by brothers; Eugene Hill of Archibald, Billy Hill, and Dock Hill both of Mangham, Tom Hill, and Grant Hill both of Rayville; 14 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
In her mid-life, Mrs. Wiggins received her degree and worked as a registered nurse at Richardson Medical Center in Rayville where she retired.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 28, 2008 at the Archibald First Baptist Church with Rev. John Cleveland, Rev. Jimmy Goodman, and Rev. Joe Wiggins officiating. Interment will follow in Little Creek Cemetery, Archibald under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home in Rayville.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hill, Charles McDonald, Sidney Ray Hill, Brian Hill, Tom Hill, Jr., and David Boydston.
