Obituary:
Mary Scandridge was born in Philadelphia, Penn., April 7th, 1864. Died at her home in Pilot Township, Ia. Co., Iowa, April 25th, 1911, age 47 yrs. + 18 days. When four years of age she came with her parents to Iowa.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Andrew Yearian, March 30th, 1886. Four children were born to them: 3 sons: Albert, David & Earl & one daughter, Ethel. All of of whom, with the husband remain to mourn the loss of a loving wife & mother. She is also survived by five brothers, four sisters & 3 grandchildren.
Mrs. Yearian had been ill but a few days & her sudden death came as a heavy blow to the family & loved ones, & she will be greatly missed in the home & community. Yet we mourn not as those who have no hope for we believe that she is numbered with those of whom it is said: They shall hunger no more neither thirst anymore for the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall be their shepherd & shall lend them to the fountains of water of life.
Funeral services were held from Genoa Bluff Congregational Church, of which she was a member, conducted by Rev. J.M. Whitehead, her former pastor assisted by Rev. Thos. Thompson, the present pastor of Genoa Bluffs Church.
Interment was in Genoa Bluffs Cemetery.
