For many months Mrs. Hagar was confined to her bed, and although nearly 85 years of age and a great sufferer, her spirit seemed not to feel the touch of age for she was cheerful and ever watchful for an opportunity to speak of Christ to the unsaved. We could not understand why she need suffer so much but, "he knew He had ore that would stand the test, And He wanted the finest gold To mould as a crown for the King to wear, Set with gems of a price untold." She was one whom to know was to feel the influence of a noble christian character. She was a loving mother and her sons and daughters can truly feel that "Tis blessed to die the Lord." Her last request being "Precious Jesus, take me home." We woudl not whish her back to earth, but rather to live so as to meet her in her eternal home. She selected these hymns for her funeral services - "Refuge," "I Want to go There" and "Asleep in Jesus." As flesh grew weeker her faith and hope grew stronger until the gates of the New Jerusalem opened andshe be held her Lord face to face. So ended a life of service for her Master. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. D. M. VanTuyl.
