Norma Jean Balentine, 85, passed peacefully on Friday, March 3, 2023 at her home in Sellersburg surrounded by her loved ones. She was born at home in Sellersburg on July 11, 1937 to the late Louis and Mary Rauck (Meyer). Norma was a faithfully devoted lifetime member of the St. John Paul II Catholic Church (St. Joe Hill), where she enjoyed singing in the choir for many years. She was also a member of the Sellersburg American Legion Auxiliary Post 204. In her free time Norma volunteered at the Providence Retirement Home in New Albany. Norma enjoyed quilting, sewing, dancing, cooking, gardening and country music. She was a homemaker that devoted her life to the well-being of her family.

Norma will join her beloved son, Kevin and her devoted husband of 65 years, Kenny in heaven. Survivors include her daughters, Sandy (Rick) Wilson, Shirley (Moose) Baumann, Kathy (Dan) Montgomery, her sisters, Martha Lozier, Joanie Worrall, her grandchildren, Josh (Marybeth) , Brandon, Rick Jr. (Stephannie), Trisha (Shawn), Tiffany (Brad), Kelsey (Dustin), Nikki, Logan (Kelsey), great-grandchildren, Jade, Garret, Mallory, Westin, Liam, Oakleigh, Addy, Audrey, Brooks, Emme, Parker, Tripp and Tate. Norma also leaves behind her first great-great grandchild to cherish her memory, Charlotte.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at the St. John Paul II Catholic Church (St. Joe Hill Building). Interment will be next to her husband and her son at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
