BONO — Homer Virlon Adams, 81, of Bono died Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Jonesboro Health Care Center.

He was a retired farmer and mechanic. He sang for years with the Messengers and the Gospel Heirs and was a member of First General Baptist Church of Jonesboro.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Gene and Heather Adams of Jonesboro and Wayne and Edna Adams of Henderson, Texas; seven daughters and their husbands, Lou and the Rev. James Wainscott, Pat and Tim Jones, all of Brookland; Marie and Bill Watson of Little Rock, Janie and the Rev. Don Jones of McCrory, Mary and the Rev. Bobby Spencer of Monticello, Debbie and Jerry Manley and Ruby and Rusty McCluskey, all of Jonesboro; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grand-children; three brothers, the Rev. Bill Adams of Brookland, Virgil Adams and Gene Adams, both of Kansas City, Mo.; and two sisters, Aline Sidenstricker of Jonesboro and Janet Brunson of Kansas City.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Etta Elizabeth Denison Adams; three grandchildren, Debra Jones, Brian Jones and Crystal Despain; four brothers, Jim Adams, Jack Adams, the Rev. J.W. Adams and Buddy Adams; and two sisters, Jewell Crouch and Mae Smullin.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Woods Chapel General Baptist Church with the Revs. Jerry Thompson and Don Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery.

Pallbearers are grandsons, Bobby Adams, Carl Adams, Bradley Adams, David Barnes, Jeremy Spencer, Patrick Spencer, Zachary McCluskey, Michael Adams and Mark Jones.

Visitation will be from 5-8 tonight in Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.
