Marjorie "Midge" Daugherty, 89, of Ft. Madison, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at 9:40 PM at the Ft. Madison Community Hospital.

She was born on November 27, 1922 in Ft. Madison to Grover and Marie Eldred Hughes. Midge was a graduate of Ft. Madison High School and a lifelong resident of Ft. Madison. She retired from Sheaffer Pen Co. after 40 years of service. She was also a member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors include two sons, Michael (Marcia) Daugherty of Clarksberg, New Jersey and John (Linda) Saldeen of Ft. Madison; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Kathaleen Thoman of Ft. Madison and Joanne Jefferson of Des Moines, IA; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.

Per her wishes, her body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
