She was born June 26, 1938 to Frank and Flossie (Lee) Gille. She married John E. Aarup on October 20, 1962 in Springfield.
Carol was a member of South Side Christian Church. She was a graduate of Lanphier High School. She worked in the Business Department of the State Journal-Register, retiring in 2004 after 30 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Sally Gille; brother-in-law, Billie Joyner; and nephew, Mike Gille.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2023, at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Pastor Larry Hanson officiating.
