Funeral service for Barney M. Smith (1898-1945), 47, lifelong resident of the Francis section, who died in a local hospital Saturday after a brief illness were held yesterday at the Francis Baptist Church.
Burial was made in the Peniel Cemetery with the Smith Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Alice McCormick Smith, four sons, Cortlan Smith, U.S. Army, Barney Ray Smith, U.S. Navy, James W. Smith and Troy G. Smith, both Daytona Beach; his mother, Mrs. Laura Smith, Francis; two sisters, Mrs. Lidia Johns, Palatka, Mrs. Elsie Wilkinson, Francis, and two brothers, Clyde E. Smith and Hurman W.
