5036 Private A (or G) Drydale, B Company, 4th Battalion the (Princess of Wales's Own) Yorkshire Regiment. He deployed with his battalion to South Africa for the Second Anglo Boer War. He died of disease at the military hospital, Vryburg on 26 Jun 1902. He was buried on 27 Jun 1902. He is also commemorated on the Yorkshire Regiment Boer War memorial on a roundabout in Tower Street, Adjacent to County Court, York, North Yorkshire, England (see: https://www.warmemorialsonline.org.uk/memorial/191775/).
