Born in Middletown, on December 24, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Thomas William and Alda Mae Smith Byers.
Arletta started her career as a teacher in a one-room school house n Elizabethtown; and then was a speech therapist for the Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13. She received her Bachelor's degree from Elizabethtown College, and her Master's in Education and Speech Therapy from Franklin & Marshall College, Lancaster. Arletta was a member of the Chambers Hill United Methodist Church and its Easter Eggers group. She was also a member of the Farm Women Chapter #9. Arletta was an avid quilter and crafter; loved to paint; and enjoyed traveling.
In addition to her parents, Arletta was preceded in death by her husbands, Roy Clark and Marlin E. Kaylor; and three brothers, Kenneth, Donald, and Lloyd Byers.
Arletta is survived by her son, Thomas R. Clark husband of Lauren of Middletown; two granddaughters, Brianna Clark of Highspire, and Kate Clark Heater wife of Dawon of Mooresville, SC; a sister, Janice Fogel of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Friday, February 10, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Friday from 10am to until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chambers Hill United Methodist Church, 6300 Chambers Hill Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
